This era has been the era of digitization and every brand and organisation is coming up with different digital solutions for them to compete in the market. This time it was Telenor. In a splendid show of its perpetual eagerness to bolster and advance digitization in the nation, Telenor Pakistan sorted out a Digital Festival in Lahore. A festival of thoughts an advancement, the celebration breathed life into Telenor's digital world highlighting a variety of awesome advanced digital items and arrangements the operator has created amid the post-3G period.
The lively one-day occasion commenced with a media roundtable after which the bloggers and other guests were helped in a walkthrough of Digital Products in the engagement zones that offered direct experience of Telenor's modern digital items. These included 5 of their marketing products, 3 CRD products, 2 Internet of Tthings products and 1 Easypaisa. Key highlights of the Digital Fest were Telenor Pakistan's drives that traverse crosswise over different digital domains including mobile applications, IoT products Live demos of mobile applications, for example, Capture, WowBox and Pocket TV were advertised. A holographic mannequin addressed the guests about every one of the things My Telenor App can do. The occasion additionally included Telenor Pakistan's arrangement of 3G handsets and web gadgets intended to improve advanced digital ecosystem.
Some of the products which I personally loved were :
- Pocket TV : Pocket TV is Telenor Pakistan’s Live TV and video on demand product targeted at consumers of broadcast (live TV streaming) and long-form/feature length (movies, dramas, documentaries etc.) content. Product can be accessed at www.pockettv.pk. I am a huge cricket fan so Pocket Tv will make it easier for me to watch matches live on my smartphone whenever I want. :D. You guys can tune in and watch the latest episode of Game of Thrones too. ;)
- Telenor Companion : One of the many excellent products launched during the event, Telenor Companion Watch is a child monitoring/tracking device which is a SIM enabled wristwatch with voice and tracking functions. Parents feel that nowadays people (strangers) usually involved in terrorist, kidnapping and harassment activities, hence they can give a personalized service to their kids to avoid any unfortunate incident.Loved the idea as I have a younger sister and I can get this for her for safety reasons. Also its available in pink and blue colour attracting children as well.
- Vendi Machine : Telenor officially launched it’s Easypay service. Easypay is an online payment enabling system that lets you pay online using your Easypaisa Account, Credit/Debit card or via an Easypaisa retailer. There's a tag that you can put on your smartphone and if you want to purchase something from the vendi machine, scan the tag, approve the transaction on messages and enjoy the service. Loved this idea the most and I hope they will put these vendi machines in my college premises as well.
Speaking on the occasion, Irfan Wahab Khan, Deputy CEO and CMO Telenor Pakistan, said, “Digital Products and services are transforming businesses, enriching lives and propelling progress across the world. Telenor, through its ambition of empowering societies, is contributing towards making 'digital Pakistan' a reality and today’s launch of digital products will enable digital inclusion for people, create a society with minimal digital divide and unleash multiple entrepreneurship, innovation and creative opportunities. I extend my gratitude to all Telenor Pakistan customers for making us their digital lifestyle partner.”
The best part about the event was meeting Telenor's CEO who was a complete sweetheart. Here's a selfie with him. The blue lighting made us change three spots so that a good selfie could be taken.
We explored all the other products and it was interesting interacting with people how these products could help us in making our lives a lot easier. This truly is the future. And so #TDF2016 came to an end. I experienced a lot of cool things and met a lot of cool people. We need more of this in Pakistan. Here’s to the next Telenor Digital Festival!
PS : The first picture has 2 awesome bloggers from Karachi, @Aey and @AMK. Thanks TDF for letting me meet these awesome people! :D
